Hugo's Cellar is a classic steakhouse nestled within the vintage charm of the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. This upscale restaurant blends the feel of an old-school Vegas steakhouse with an intimate, warmly lit atmosphere that invites diners to slow down and savor the experience. Unlike the brash, neon-lit spots commonly found on Fremont, Hugo’s offers a more restrained, elegant setting — low lighting, cozy booths, and attentive service that shapes the vibe into something more refined yet welcoming.

This is a place best suited for special occasions or evenings when you want to enjoy a multi-course meal without rush. Locals and visitors alike commonly come here to indulge in classic continental fare with a focus on quality beef and seafood. Hugo’s is particularly known for its table-side presentations, notably Caesar salads and flambéed desserts like Bananas Foster or Cherries Jubilee, which add an engaging, personalized touch to the meal. Wine lovers are well served here, with a sommelier on hand to guide pairings and selections.

Signature dishes such as the slow-roasted prime rib and Beef Wellington highlight the kitchen’s skill with beef, while options like Maple Bourbon Duck and Lobster Bisque represent the broader range of continental dishes on the menu. The bar area attracts guests looking for expertly crafted cocktails in a setting that feels both polished and approachable, making it a solid choice for an elegant nightcap or pre-dinner drink.

What stands out is the focus on service: staff members often recognize returning guests, and the experience tends to feel personalized, from birthday acknowledgments to staff who are genuinely attentive without being overbearing. Despite being located within a bustling hotel-casino environment, the restaurant holds onto a quieter, more sophisticated energy that separates it from the louder, more casual Fremont Street venues. It’s a comfortable choice for diners who want to channel a sense of classic Las Vegas dining tradition rather than the newer, flashier trends.

Overall, Hugo’s Cellar is best for those looking to celebrate milestones or enjoy a well-paced, thoughtfully prepared steakhouse dinner with a side of old Las Vegas flair. Evening visits tend to fit the mood best, when the space’s warm lighting and table-side rituals can be fully appreciated amidst the backdrop of downtown’s lively yet historic core.

I hadn’t been to Hugo cellar since prom of 92. I was feeling nostalgic for my 51st birthday and wanted to in someways stepped back in time Hugo seller did not disappoint From the matrix D, knowing who I am and saying, happy birthday to the end of the night with the birthday card signed by the staff. Hugo cellar definitely has Master the art of service and fine dining. My food was delicious the table Side salad was the first time I was offered options and not just lettuce options. I enjoyed my meal But also, I felt seen. Thank you, Hugo cellar

Nice booth seating and fantastic server! Forgot her name but she's in one of the pictures!!! The prime rib is excellent, however we asked them to grill it which they did and it was the best I've ever had!! The escargot was excellent. Salad tableside was fantastic! Will definitely return! (Don't let the older hotel dissuade you from coming to have a great dinner)

My party went for a very special 67th birthday and we had the best time. This was a serious 5 course meal that we paid a pretty decent price for. The wait staff was very professional and helped each guest decide what they wanted. Each entree comes with a table side Caesar salad that was incredibly delicious. Their Sommelier had over 20 years of experience and was very knowledgeable about all types of wine. I ordered the Beef Wellington and had a side of Truffle Risotto. The Beef Wellington was cooked medium rare which is the correct way to eat it, but you can have it cooked whichever way you prefer. My very special guest had the fire roasted chicken breast and I swear she got the whole chicken! For the restaurants’ birthday celebration they gave a special birthday card and a mini chocolate lava cake. We did not order the Banana Foster show because we were so stuffed from the other 4 courses, but multiple parties ordered and it looked amazing as they gave a short history. Overall, loved the ambience and loved the food. Highly recommend this place for a birthday celebration.

I'd been here several times in the past, always amazing, but it had been at least 17 or 18 years and again it did NOT disappoint! Incredible food, outstanding service and such a cool, classic atmosphere! Our serving team was Carlos and Vince and they were absolutely amazing, making our dining experience that much more special! Will definitely be back!

Went with a friend who is a regular there. I loved the asthetics and environment, you walk in and really do feel like you're dropping into a different part of the casino. Its low lit and intimate but still spacious. We sat at the bar and the bartender knew my friend quite well, so drinks were excellent and service was fast. My manhattan was perfectly balanced with a great carpano instead of the typical martin rossi. Caesar salad was 'ok', I think most of its accolades come from it being made table side, but I did appreciate the real anchoives in the dressing - makes a difference. Beyond that however, I was underwhelmed with the my New York cut, which was both over cooked from Medium Rare and had to be remade, to the sides which my baked potato was somehow underdone. Bartender, I am forgetting his name, was apologetic as was the Manager, so no issues getting things fixed, but was just disheartened having heard nothing but praise for this establishment. They were not busy, so I can't say it was because the kitchen was slammed or anything, I just felt really underwhelmed. It is defintely a steakhouse. Decent food. Great setting. Great service. But didn't really capture what I thought it the online world made it out ot be. I would summarize it as: I am glad my friend paid.

Service was some of the best we've had in Vegas! We got the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly. The chocolate covered strawberries at the end were a pleasant surprise! Definitely recommend. Coming back for sure when we dont have to rush for a show.

Travelled to Hugo Cellars for our wedding anniversary. I can safely say we was not disappointed, we had a number of servers looking after us and made the wife feel very special right from the beginning with a red rose . The service was excellent from the meal, drink and wine service. Would definitely recommend going for special occasions to make it an extra special meal. Keep up the good work and hope to visit again.

A single red rose offered to the ladies truly enhances the dining experience. This thoughtful gesture, combined with excellent service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere, creates a memorable occasion. It's easy to see why I consider this establishment the best-kept secret in Las Vegas. The attention to detail ensures every guest feels valued and well-cared for. This establishment truly understands how to create a delightful evening.
